Got word last night that I'm going to be an aunt again in February. I was stunned but pleased--God does work in mysterious ways and He has decided to bless the family in this way. After all, "Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him." (Psalm 127:3, NLT) So we are rejoicing at what the Lord is doing in our family. It has been quite a year this year. I don't think I've seen a year that was more like a roller coaster than this year. With the birth of Abel, then the deaths of loved ones, and now this news of another little one on the way, wow! I'm glad God is in control of all this, and not me. He is there through every twist and turn, every loop and sudden plunge. Kind of reminds me of this trip to Florida we took several years ago. We went to Busch Gardens, and Mom and Dad went on this nasty looking ride called the Khumba. Ash and I decided we weren't up for it so off Mom and Dad went. They came back, and their hair was blown straight back. That's sort of how I feel right now.
