Molly and Tia
Who is this?

On my walk yesterday, something hit me that had never occurred to me before. I was looking up and I noticed for the first time how small I am compared to the trees. I looked up and it seemed the trees just stretched up and up. It was a big disconcerting at first, but then I realized a couple of things: first, it is amazing that God still sees me as small as I am. As David wrote in Psalm 8:3-4:
"When I look at the night sky and see the work of Your fingers--the moon and the stars you set in  place--what are mortals that you should think of us, mere humans that you should care for us?" (New Living Translation)
The second thing I realized is that I don't have to try to control everything. In fact, it's probably better if I don't. What a load off my mind. I mean, I knew this intellectually before, but there's a difference between knowing something in your head and really knowing it enough to act on it. Hopefully this lesson will be taken to heart. So this is my joy for the day.
On another note, I would like to congratulate Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain for 60 years on the throne. That is quite an accomplishment, and I realize how much she (and the monarchy) are an institution in England.
