Today's joy today has to be the Muppets. Check out this article that I found on the internet today:
http://www.slate.com/articles/life/low_concept/2012/06/what_kind_of_muppet_are_you_chaos_or_order_.html.
It discusses Muppet Theory and the two different types of Muppets: Chaos Muppets and Order Muppets. Based on the descriptions, I would have to be an Order Muppet. Those of you who know me don't judge me based on the untidyness of my home: underneath it all, I like things a certain way, and have a certain way that I like things done. I am also married to a Chaos Muppet. (One commenter posted that her husband told her that she was Miss Piggy to his Kermit. Never a good idea to compare your wife to a pig. I don't care who you are.) It's hard for me to have a favorite Muppet, although I love Statler and Waldorf, particularly since I've known several people like them. I happen to be related to several people like Statler and Waldorf.
In all seriousness, the next chapter of the book I'm reading on joy asked what my faith-life reveals about the depth of my relationship with God. I'm still pondering this one. I mean, on one hand, one would think that the more faith you had, the deeper your relationship with God would be. On the other hand, Jesus said to His disciples after they asked Him how to get more faith, "Even if you had faith as small as a mustard seed....you could say to this mulberry tree, 'May God uproot you and throw you into the sea,' and it would obey you!'" So maybe it's not the size of the faith that indicates how deep your relationship with God, but the genuineness of the faith. But maybe this blog is completely incomprehensible today, as I've been up since 3 am (I had to work at 4, not a great joy of my life.). So I'll end this here before I start babbling.
