Blessed are those...

Blessed are those who who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they go right on producing delicious fruit. (Jeremiah 17:7-8)
Those are the kind of people that we need to associate with. We have talked about in Sunday School and church about how one can't be a 'lone Christian'. We need to plant ourselves by the riverbank and take in the spiritual nutrition that God gives, and also surround ourselves with the other trees. That's why today when I 'taught' (I put it in quotes because I'm not sure if anyone learned anything from me) Sunday School, I was genuinely interested in how people responded to the questions I posed. I wanted to glean some of their wisdom, as everyone there was older than me and that can be intimidating, especially if some of those people taught you when you were growing up. But I did get confirmation that my blog is doing some good out there, and that makes me feel better. I'm also glad that my mother is able to keep tabs on me when we are not able to talk during the week, and that makes me feel better that she knows what I'm up to and is hopefully not worried about me. I still feel myself accountable to my parents, and that is how it should be. I didn't stop being their child because I moved out of the house, and I'll always be their child, and I hope to not add to the gray hairs on their head (LOL, Mom and Dad!). I'm also so thankful that they made me go to church and that they taught me the right way to go, (I didn't always follow it, none of us do), but now this has all stuck, and I'm growing as a result. So thank you all who had a hand in my upbringing (including my church family).
