I love the food that comes with summertime. Food like cherries, corn on the cob, ice cream, etc. just tastes better during the summer because it is fresher. (Well, maybe not the ice cream, but you know...) A wider variety of fruits and vegetables during this time of year adds to the feeling of joy. I would enjoy watermelon, but seeing as it doesn't love my husband we don't buy it.
The last few days have been muggy and kind of uncomfortable, so I also am enjoying my air conditioning. I know the critters appreciate being cooler, and life just feels better when you're not soaked in sweat. However, I don't think my electricity bill will like the use of the A/C.
Andy and I had what we think was a coyote run out in front of us yesterday on our way home from grocery shopping. We were coming to a curve in the road, when we saw what looked like a dog/wolf hybrid run across the road and into the woods. We looked at each other and said "Was that a coyote?" I'd never seen one in person before. It just did not look like someone's dog. Surprise! It's kind of cool, though. Although we said that's the reason we keep our bunnies indoors. So those are my joys for the day. Nothing too profound, but there it is .
