Who is this?

Right now I'm currently watching Serena Williams play Maria Sharapova in the tennis finals in the Olympics, and the thought occurred to me that this may be the one time that people pay as much attention to women's sports as they do the men. It's funny because the women look just as athletic as the men do--people have heard me complain about this before, that women's sports don't get nearly as much attention as men do. I still don't quite understand why there is no women's professional softball or baseball league, or if there is, why we don't hear about it. Anyhow.

I've been reading Romans, and 12:2 reads:"Don't copy the the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect His will really is."  There are times at work when I feel really different from my coworkers...when they talk about going out drinking, or watching movies that are really vulgar, etc. I can't relate because I choose not to participate in those things. The hot book right now is the "Fifty Shades" series, which I am not going to read because it is really pornography disguised as a novel. It just seems sad when the bestselling novel involves sexually explicit material...it says a lot about who we are as a culture. I don't want to get caught up in that. But it makes it awkward when a customer asks me about it because I don't plan to read it. I usually just say "it's not my cup of tea". On the other hand, there may be times when I unwittingly "copy the customs and behavior of this world". When I get into petty disagreements with people. When I get irritated by stupid things. I know that I need to let God do this work for me, because I can't quit getting irritated on my own.
