I love to watch the National Geographic specials. Tonight I'm watching a full length Nat Geo movie called The Last Lions. It follows a lioness with her cubs in Africa, and the photography is spectacular as usual. Unfortunately one of her cubs gets eaten by a crocodile, and those parts always kill me every time. Ironically, if the cub had been a full grown lion and had hunted down an antelope, I would have felt bad for the antelope. I guess I root for the underdog. But lion cubs are way too cute, not that I really want to get close to one. Despite the depressing parts, I enjoy watching nature documentaries; every time I watch one I'm in awe of exactly what God created. With all the diversity of species, these creatures couldn't possibly have just evolved. I mean, the duck billed platypus, anyone? A mammal that lays eggs???? Or what about the lizard that squirts blood from its eyes when it is threatened? Or one of my personal favorites, the spinner dolphins? No, nature is living proof of what God created. Creatures like the above mentioned don't just evolve out of nowhere. It takes some serious planning and a real good head for design!
Next week, Andy and I will be going to Sea World and we'll be marveling at some of these creatures. I cannot wait to ride the waterslide that goes through the Commerson's dolphins.
