Why?

I found out tonight that three of the founding members of the Beach Boys were fired from their 50th anniversary tour. Not only that, but the said three members didn't find out until the announcement was made. What a horribly shabby way to treat people. Now I don't know the back story, but it seems to me that Mike Love should have at least had the decency to fire them in person so they'd know it was coming, instead of broadsiding them. They are saying that this could spell the end of the Beach Boys. It doesn't make much sense to continue on without three of your founding members. It just feels like another era is dying. I might idealize it, but it seems like the 1960s were a great decade for music. You can put on a record by almost anyone in that decade and lift your spirits. Oh well. All things must pass, right?
