Miscellaneous...

I have a new iPod Touch, which I've  quickly become fond of. I can do most anything that anybody with an iPhone can do, except it doesn't have phone service. If I have access to wi-fi, then I can make phone calls through FaceTime. It's pretty nifty, however, it's not going to replace my Dell laptop. For one thing, I would have an awful time writing this blog, the keyboard is tiny.

We had the blessing of having Bruce and Sharon Marshall minister to us today in church. What a blessing...I had goose bumps through the service. The songs she sang all glorified God, and you could feel God's presence in the church.

Psalm 118 reads:
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever. Let the congregation of Israel repeat: "His faithful love endures forever."...Let all who fear the Lord repeat: "His faithful love endures forever." (Psalm 118: 1-2,4)
I felt His presence with me today, when I helped read announcements and take the offerings and everything. I'm not good at praying out loud, but God put the words in my mouth for me, which was good because I had no idea what was going to come out of it.

It is better to trust the Lord than to put confidence in people. It is better to trust the Lord than to put confidence in princes.(v.8-9)
This includes putting trust in ourselves. We keep operating under the delusion that everything will turn out all right if we just take charge, when we tend to make bigger messes than we would have if we had just trusted God. I'm glad I just let God put the words in my mouth.

Open for me the gates where the righteous enter, and I will go in and thank the Lord. Those gates lead to the presence of the Lord, and the godly enter there. I thank you for answering my prayer and saving me! (v.19-21)
This was how I felt by the end of the service: like I had spent time in God's house with Him--I thank Him for everything He has done and is doing. I thank Him for Ashley and Alicia and their service, though I wish they could have gone without leaving us. Yes, I was wishing I could have my cake and eat it too!
