Thirsty?

Today at work I just got so darn thirsty. It was my fault for not stopping to get an ice water from the Starbucks, but it was still pretty bad. On my break I bought an Honest Kids grape juice and boy! did that first sip taste good. That's my joy for today....the first sip of a drink when you're really thirsty.Reminds me of Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well. Jesus was on His way to Galilee but had to go through Samaria on the way, which many Jews refused to do. They didn't like Samaritans at all. Anyway, He stopped and rested at a village called Sychar, where Jacob's well was (John 4:6).
Jesus, tired from the long walk, sat wearily beside the well about noon time. Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, "Please give me a drink." He was alone at the time because His disciples had gone into the village to buy some food. The woman was surprised, for Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans. She said to Jesus, "You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan woman. Why are you asking me for a drink?" Jesus replied, "If you only knew the gift God has for you and who I am, you would ask me, and I would give you living water." "But sir, you don't have a rope or a bucket," she said, "and this is a very deep well. Where would you get this living water?"....Jesus replied, "People soon become thirsty again after drinking this water. But the water I give them takes away thirst altogether. It becomes a perpetual spring within them, giving them eternal life." (John 4:6-14)
Think of it! Just think of having that great feeling of having your thirst quenched every day, every moment of your life! That's what Jesus offers. I try every day to quench my spiritual thirst for Him...however, until He comes back, I don't think this thirst will ever quite be quenched. We have to learn to drink of Him....
