trying to live up to expectations...

I am dreading going to work today because of a visit from my boss's boss. Whenever they come, their job is always to find stuff that is wrong for us to correct. I can't stand these visits because I cannot relax and be myself. I know they expect us to be pushing sales on people, and I don't like that one bit. I don't feel I can live up to those expectations. Some people are natural salesmen---I am not.

It kind of makes me think of anyone trying to live up to the Mosaic Law, rather than trusting in Christ. It's impossible.

Since we have a great High Priest who rules over God's people, let us go right into the presence of God, with true hearts fully trusting Him. For our evil consciences have been sprinkled with Christ's blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water. Without wavering, let us hold tightly to the hope we say we have, for God can be trusted to keep His promise. (Hebrews 10:21-23)
We don't need to try to live up to standard that one can't keep up on one's own. We have the Holy Spirit to help us, and we can know that our sins are covered by the sacrifice Jesus made. What a wonderful God we serve!
