Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is almost upon us, and I thought over the next several days, that I'd write about things that I am grateful for. Of course, it is kind of sad that we don't do this every day of our lives, because we should be thankful for the gift of life. That's the first thing on my list, actually.

1.) I'm thankful for the gift of life my parents gave me, but even more, I'm grateful for the new life given to me by Jesus Christ. "When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners." (Romans 5:6)
2.) I'm so glad for the comfort He has given me this year through the losses of several people dear to me. Bill Sandberg, my mother-in-law Ginger Ellis, Mary Ann Shaw, Stan Scott, Jake Phipps, and I feel as though I'm forgetting some. He has been with us all through these trials.
3.) I'm grateful for the gift of laughter. It makes life a lot smoother along the way. It's good for the cardiovascular system, and it reduces anxiety and stress levels. I am a chronic worrier, so when I have a good laugh over something silly, or watch a funny movie, or one of the critters does something funny, I look at it as a gift, not to be taken for granted.
4.) I'm thankful for the joy music has brought me. I was never athletic, but I did have a gift for music, and I don't want to take that for granted.
