I had to literally take the words of "You Never Let Go" to heart tonight. There was a storm tonight. I do not like driving in snow at all. My neck and back muscles ache from being tense the whole time. So I thought of the words "I will fear no evil/For my God is with me/and if my God is with me/Whom then shall I fear"?
I guess I can't say that I don't fear the snowstorm, but I can say that I remember that God is there with me in that storm, and He is bigger than the storm. He also reminds me that I can control what I do with the fear. If the fear leads me to panic, then I will most likely go off the road. If the fear leads me to slow down and make no sudden braking moves, then I will in all likelihood get where I am going safely. I think the same applies to life. If, while we're going through a "life storm", we panic/worry/fret over what we're going to do, we'll most likely make the wrong decision (go off the road, as it were). If, however, we use the fear we are feeling to make wise decisions, we'll get where we are going safely. Of course, to make wise decisions, we need to slow down and spend time with God in His Word and in prayer. Doing this leads to knowing Him, and we'll be well equipped to make wise decisions. I'm so thankful for my relationship with God. It's a great source of comfort to know He is always near and I can run to Him. It makes me want to please Him, to do His will.
