It's been a busy week, this being Christmas week and all, and a Nor'easter on top of it. I've been pretty tired, but I wanted people to know that I'm still blogging! Right now I'm watching a DVD of an old gangster film with Edward G. Robinson and Humphrey Bogart called "Brother Orchid." The cool thing about it is that the disc has a feature called "Warner Night at the Movies" and in it shows you what a night at the movies used to be like. You'd go and get to see not only a preview, but a newsreel, a short film subject, and a cartoon, and then the feature presentation. And from what I understand, it used to cost between five and ten cents. Now all of these on this Warner Night at the Movies are from the year the film was made. Boy, I wish they'd bring that back to the theaters. I'd bet they'd make some good money on that, and would encourage people to go to the theaters instead of waiting for the movie to come out on DVD or for streaming.
This makes me nostalgic for the old movies....I love how those old movies were written and the dialogue is great. So that is my joy for today..after working through a storm, getting to settle in for the night and watch an old movie.
