However, a few things I like about winter. My nephew Abel was born on December 16th. Christmas. Having an idea of what time I'm going to be getting out of work. No bugs. Curling up under my electric blanket, popping in a good movie (just got a new tv and a Blu-Ray player!), and getting lost in a good book. (That's the high life for me). Hot chocolate. The feeling of getting indoors after being out in the cold. (However, I don't like the headache that sometimes comes with warming up.)
I am reminded that there is a season for all things.
There is a time for everything, a season for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to rebuild. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance. A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away. A time to search and a time to lose. A time to keep and a time to throw away. A time to tear and a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak up. A time to love and a time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)I think a good thing is to try to find enjoyment even in the seasons of our lives that we don't enjoy so much. The fact remains that I'm never going to enjoy driving on snowy, icy roads. I'm never going to enjoy wet socks and dry skin. But, I think God gave me an ability to outweigh the negatives with the positives. Even when I'm grieving, I can still find joy. Even when I'm crying, I can find peace. I praise God for helping me live my life to the fullest.
