New Life...

On February 19, 2013 my second nephew in 14 moI look at Jonah and cannot wait to read to him. To see him walk, to hear his first word, for everything. However, I read an essay in Vogue about a woman whose sonths was born. Jonah Herbert Szostak. He is a beauty. I haven't met him yet, but I know that I love him already! I look at his picture and am reminded that God knows us before we are born. He knows all, and has planned out our lives ahead of time. So we don't need to worry, because He has our best interests in mind. Even though He has us go through some tough things in life, our suffering will be to His glory and we will be able to comfort others as a result of our own experiences. Not that I would say that to someone going through hardship.
n was born with Tay-Sachs Syndrome, which is a fatal disease. I just about lost it while reading that her infant son, at nine months, was not hitting the usual milestones and was in fact regressing. He will never walk or talk. He really cannot even move. He's almost three now, and most Tay-Sachs babies die before their third birthday. It was a really tough article to read. I just cannot imagine this happening to Jonah...seeing him learn to focus on people, to learn to use his hands, to get cooing and laughing and smiling, and then suddenly go blind, deaf, immobile, and unresponsive...and then die after a very brief life. I pray for this woman and her husband.
