Interesting thought:

If God is truth, if He can speak to us in rationally understandable words, then human rationality is really significant. The way to know the truth is to cultivate our minds and meditate on God's Word. These theological assumptions constituted the DNA of what we call Western civilization. (The Book that Made Your World, Vishal Mangalwadi, p.101)
This book I've been reading argues that the Bible is the basis for all of Western civilization and culture. It's only in the last couple of centuries that we've fallen away from it, and we are seeing the results in the chaos that has resulted. Too many people do not want to believe that there is a God who loves them and wants a relationship with them and gave them His Son to die for their sins. Mainly because this would involve turning from their sins.
When they fall prey to atheistic philosophies, though, they have nothing to back up their beliefs with. Because Logic is based on God. People who say they know there is no way to know truth the obvious question arises: how do you know that? Because they are making a claim on truth, whether they realize it or not. It's silly to say there's no truth--well, gravity is a form of truth. You can say you don't believe in it all you want, but if you jump off a building you are going to experience gravity whether you believe in it or not.  The only way to make sense of this crazy world is base our lives on a solid foundation, i.e. the Word. That is the only philosophy that I've found has made sense.
And it involves studying the Word with all your heart, mind, and soul. Some religions want you to leave your shoes and your mind at the front door. Too many don't want you thinking for yourself...Christianity is exactly the opposite. God wants us to look for Him, and when we've found Him, to keep searching. When we search for Him, we'll find Him. We'll stick close to Him, and He'll reveal Himself to us. Amen! Praise God for giving us minds and hearts that seek Him.
