Who is this?

Yesterday evening, while driving home from work, I had a great moment. There was a beautiful sunset, just stunning, with all shades of pink, etc. blazing across the sky. At the same time, I was listening to some music by Georges Bizet, composer of Carmen. The music was also gorgeous. My senses were just completely overwhelmed by beauty, and I felt like God was real close and was trying to get my attention. I felt completely peaceful and serene in His presence. Just wonderful. I read in 1 Chronicles 16, where they were bring the Ark of God back to Israel, David gave the musicians a praise psalm:

Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim His greatness. Let the whole world know what He has done. Sing to Him; yes, sing His praises. Tell everyone about His miracles. Exult in His holy name; O worshipers of the Lord, rejoice! Search for the Lord and for His strength, and keep on searching. Think of the wonderful works He has done, the miracles, and the judgments He handed down, O children of Israel, God's servant, O descendants of Jacob, God's chosen one. (v.8-13)

I noticed that David tells us to "keep searching." Living this Christian life, I'm finding, is a constant search. The more we look for God, the more He reveals to us. And actually, sometimes He will reveal things about Himself to us when we're not expecting it, which is what happened to me. But it was a great reminder to me that He will be found if we seek Him and He wants us to search for Him. Seeking Him is not a one time thing in our lives. It has to be continual, because we are prone to forgetting Him and His goodness. David also tells us to "think of the wonderful works He has done." It's hard to stay in a bad mood when you think of His goodness to us.
I think that God provides those moments of beauty to snap us out of our routine a bit. I had a long week at work, and I think this sunset was God's way of saying, "Hey, Sarah, I'm here! Your work is not who you are. I know you don't particularly enjoy your work, especially in the summertime, but nothing you are doing is useless. I can take your work and make it into something beautiful if you let Me!"
