Thoughts on the Boston attack...

Thinking through the events of the past couple days, I've realized a couple of things. First, I don't just love the sports teams of Boston and hate the city, I love the city of Boston, despite it's flaws. The second thing, I am really, really ticked off over this attack. They didn't just attack some runners, they attacked America. They attacked my region of the country. What scares me is that no one is claiming responsibility. It is crazy. Absolutely senseless.

In times like these, I take comfort in knowing God. In knowing that He is sovereign, that He is there in the midst of the chaos. That nothing happens that isn't filtered through His hands. Why did He allow this to happen? I don't know, and I'm not sure that it's my place to question Him.

I'll just hold to this promise: "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11)

You know, it is unfruitful to question why bad things happen, because we will never get an answer to this question until the Lord returns. I mean, we are bound to face trouble, but we are to take heart because Jesus has overcome the world. I think I'll hold to these truths.
