This week I've been focusing on Philippians 4:13-14: "No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven." (NLT) Paul was writing to encourage the believers in Philippi. This particular letter mentions joy and fixing our minds on lovely things many times. I've found myself using the above verse quite a few times this week as I was at work, especially when I had some very impolite people come through. I had remind myself that in the long run, this incident wasn't very important. I have a tendency to ruminate on the bad things, (research has found that women tend to ruminate more than men), so I am trying, with God's help, to break this habit. As you think, so you feel. Or to put it another way, you feel bad because your thoughts are not right. Praise God that He is with me and is helping me with these things.
