Colossians 1:9-12

So we have continued praying for you ever since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you a complete understanding of what He wants to do in your lives, and we ask Him to make you wise with spiritual wisdom. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and you will continually do good, kind things for others. All the while, you will learn to know God better and better. We also pray that you will be strengthened with His glorious power so that you will have all the patience and endurance you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father, who has enabled you to share the inheritance that belongs to God's holy people, who live in the light.
After reading this passage, I couldn't help but think of my nephew/brother Ash and his wife Alicia, who are looking into an internship at a Wisconsin church. This prayer of Paul's to the Colossians has everything in it that I would want for them, and I think that is the prayer that I will be praying for them. I look at this opportunity for them with joy, but also with mixed emotions, because I'll obviously miss them terribly. But I want them to do God's will, and to please Him, not to stay home just to please me. But it's hard. I've been holding out on joining Facebook because of privacy and identity theft concerns, but if they go, I will join so I can stay in touch. (The sacrifices we make! Lol)

On another note, Andy gave me a Bible word search book yesterday that contained the following warning: "Children having problems with reversals, or those unestablished in left-to-right reading progression should not search for words in reverse order."  I could not believe that they had to include a warning on a word search book. It's a pretty sad commentary now when word search books become dangerous. All I could do was shake my head and laugh.
